WASHINGTON – United Nations Security Council in its meeting at New York hasdiscussed the deteriorating relations between the United States and Iran.
The Security Council urged maximum restraint around Persian Gulf region asIran and United States trade diplomatic blows.
Following the Security Council meeting, Iran’s Permanent Representative atUN Majid Takht Ravanchi said he had expressed willingness to take part inthe meeting.
He deplored the US recent decision to impose more sanctions against Iran.
Majid Takht Ravanchi said that Iran wants neither war, nor an escalation oftension in the region.
