The head of Instagram Adam Mosseri has announced that the company isbringing back the chronological feed on Instagram, Metalinkreported.
This new version will offer users two options, Meta shared in their blogpost.
The first one will be called ‘Following’, which will chronologically showposts of the people you follow.
The second would be ‘Favourites’. Up to 50 accounts can be marked asfavourites. Choosing this option would mean only posts by these accountswill be available — also chronologically.
Additionally, the algorithm will prioritise the posts from the user’sfavourite accounts showing them higher in the home feed.
Since people will not be notified if they are added or removed from theFavourites list, it can be edited at any time.
These features can be selected by tapping the Instagram logo at the top.The settings will not be default and users will have to select the feedthey want manually. Otherwise, the usual algorithm-based feed will appearon the screen.
Meta aims to increase user-friendliness and said, “We want you to be ableto shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you waysto quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in thatdirection.”
