ISLAMABAD – Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman hasannounced that Rajab moon has not been sighted in the country meaning 1st dayof the month will fall on 26 February Wednesday.
The announcement was made after the moon sighting committee held a sessionin the central office of Karachi’s Met Department. The session was chairedby Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
The sessions of zonal committees were also held in major cities includingIslamabad, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar. However, no evidences of the moonsighting were received from any part of the country.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman told media that 30th Jamadi-us-Sani will fall onTuesday while Rajab will start from February 26 and Shab-e-Mairaj 2020 willbe observed on March 22nd.
The seventh month of the Islamic calendar, Rajab, is regarded as one thefour sacred months in which warfare is prohibited.
