Families of Khalil and Zeeshan, allegedly killed in CTD encounter to meet President

LAHORE – The families of Khalil and Zeeshan, who were killed in an allegedencounter with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sahiwal, wereallegedly invited to meet President Arif Alvi.

According to details, Khalil’s brother and Zeeshan’s mother and brotherleft for Islamabad to meet President Arif Alvi on Friday morning. Sourcessaid that both the families were taken to Islamabad under tight security.

On January 19, CTD officials killed four people, including a couple andtheir teenage daughter in an alleged “encounter” in Sahiwal, triggering anational outcry that prompted the government to take the security officialsinto custody and order an investigation into the incident.

The officials claimed that the ‘terrorists’ were killed in an intelligencebased operation (IBO). Three other terrorists including Shahid Jabar andAbdul Rahman managed to flee during the chase near the toll plaza ofSahiwal.

They also claimed of confiscating explosives and weapons from the caradding that officers were investigating into the matter as part of theoperation in Faisalabad on January 16.
