Pakistan and Japan inch closer further on the bilateral front

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has stressed the importance ofworking together of Pakistan and Japan more closely to enhancemutually-beneficial cooperation in diverse fields.

He was talking to Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs to Prime Minister ofJapan Sonoura Kentaro in Islamabad.

He underscored Pakistan’s readiness to welcome Japanese businesses in allsectors. He hoped that the Japanese companies could take full advantage ofthe vast opportunities in Pakistan.

The prime minister also highlighted the worsening human rights andhumanitarian situation in Occupied Kashmir and serious risks for peace andsecurity posed by India’s belligerent posture and illegal actions.

Imran Khan expressed the hope that the international community would playits role in ensuring respect of the fundamental human rights of theKashmiris and facilitating just solution of Kashmir dispute in accordancewith UN resolutions.

The Japanese Special Adviser on Foreign Affairs reiterated the Governmentof Japan’s full support to further enhance bilateral cooperation in myriadfields of mutual benefit.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to take the bilateral relationshipto a higher level.
