LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Mussarrat Jamshed on Monday tabled aresolution in the Punjab Assembly condemning a statement by the Indian armychief in which the official had threated to take military action againstPakistan.
The resolution, while calling for a trade embargo with India,said Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for its weakness.
It urged the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation memberstates and other international organisations to take notice of India’sstubborn attitude.
Rawat while making hollow claims said that it was important for theneighbouring country to also feel the pain and it needed to realise at thesame time that it had to curb the terrorism menace.
The Indian army chief said that India would have to respond to Pakistan intheir own language without resorting to barbarism.
Responding to General Bipin Rawat’s reckless remarks of teaching Pakistan alesson, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major GenAsif Ghafoor stated Indian army has been indulged in their country’spolitics in the wake of corruption scandals whereas he vehemently warnedIndian civilian and military’s top brass against putting burden of theirdomestic issues on ‘Pakistan’s shoulders’.
