Imran Khan clarifies confusion on grand opposition alliance participation

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has finally clarified the prevailing confusion over the issue of the grand opposition alliance participation led by Asif Zardari against the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has ruled out joining Asif Ali Zardari’s grand opposition alliance, saying the former president himself is a corrupt man.

“PML-N is celebrating victory on declaration of their leader as ‘corrupt’ and ‘liar’ declared by the Supreme Court while PTI is celebrating victory on exposing the ‘most corrupt person’ before nation after their long struggle,” Imran Khan said while talking to a private TV channel outside Supreme Court (SC) here on Monday.

Replying to a question over grand alliance with opposition, Khan said, “We will not support corrupt people”.

Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to play his role in bringing the nation out of ‘an atmosphere of mistrust’.

The informal remarks came during a conversation between the CJP and the PTI chief during a hearing on Khan’s request against illegal encroachments in Bani Gala.
