Pakistan s 21 million Expo 2020 pavilion kicks off in DUBAI

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s $21 million Expo 2020 pavilion kicks off in DUBAI.

Pakistan’s Consul-General in Dubai Ahmed Amjad Ali says work has startedon Pakistan’s $21 million Expo 2020 pavilion in Dubai, Khaleej Timeslink reported.

The pavilion will be built in the Opportunity District of the Expo 2020 inmore than 3,449 square meters of land. A special section will showcaseprominent Pakistani women and tech entrepreneurs for their greatcontribution in different social and educational fields.

The Expo will start on October 20, 2020 and will continue for six monthstill April 10, 2021 with the theme of Connecting Minds, Creating theFuture. 190 countries are expected to participated in it.

Pakistan and UAE enjoy close relations. In January 2020, Abu Dhabi’s CrownPrince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Pakistan along with ahigh-level delegation and directed the Khalifa Fund for EnterpriseDevelopment to allocate $200 million to support small and medium-sizedenterprises in Pakistan.

The crown prince had arrived at the Nur Khan Airbase where he was receivedby Prime Minister Imran Khan and various government officials. Settingaside the protocol, the premier himself had driven the crown prince to thePM House from the airbase.

During the meeting, both the leaders had discussed ways to enhancebilateral relations between the two countries and exchanged views onmatters of mutual interest, as well as the regional and global situation.

In a tweet via his official account, Sheikh Mohamed said that he met his“friend Prime Minister Imran Khan” and discussed “regional andinternational issues of mutual interest as well as ways to enhancebilateral ties”.
