Federal government released Rs 456 billion under the PSDP 2019 – 20

ISLAMABAD – The Federal government has so far authorized release of Rs456.37 billion for various ongoing and new social sector uplift projectsunder its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20, as againstthe total allocation of Rs 701 billion.

Under its development programme, the government has authorized release ofan amount of Rs 191.26 billion for federal ministries, Rs151.8 billion forcorporations and Rs 33.6 billion for special areas, according to a latestdata released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.

Out of these allocations, the government authorized release of Rs 38.45billion for security enhancement in the country for which the governmenthad allocated Rs 38.45 billion during the year 2019-20.

An amount of Rs 77.655 billion has also been authorized for the blocksmanaged by Finance Division under the government’s 10 years developmentprogramme.

Similarly for Higher education Commission, the government authorized anamount of Rs 22.7 billion out of its total allocation of Rs 29 billionwhile Rs 229.47 million were released for Pakistan Nuclear Energy Authorityfor which the government had allocated Rs 301.48 million in the developmentbudget.

For the National Highway Authority (NHA), the government authorized releaseof Rs 140.4 billion against its allocations of Rs154.96 billion. Underannual development agenda, the government also released Rs 10.14 billionfor Railways Division out of total allocation of Rs 16 billion, Rs 6.07billion for Interior Division, and Rs 7.13 billion for National HealthServices, Regulations, and Coordination Division.

The Revenue Division received Rs 4.24 billion whereas the Cabinet Divisionalso received Rs 30.1 billion for which an amount of Rs 39.986 billion hasbeen allocated for the year 2019-20.

The government also released Rs 20.75 billion for Azad Jammu and Kashmir(AJK) block and other projects out of its allocations of Rs 27.26 billionand Rs 12.8 billion for Gilgit Baltistan (Block and other projects).
