ZURICH: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived here Tuesday toparticipate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) inDavos-Klosters, Switzerland, where he will interact with key world leadersand chairpersons/CEOs of 15 leading multinational organisations from theUnited States, Europe, China and Japan.
The prime minister was undertaking the two-day visit on the invitation ofthe WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Professor Klaus Schwab.
A statement from the Foreign Office said that the prime minister wouldparticipate in a number of important events and hold bilateral meetings. Hewould also interact with heads of states and governments at a specialsession of the Informal Group of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL), besidesparticipating in a WEF session, titled “The Belt and Road Impact”.
The statement further informed that the prime minister would have a busyschedule with the media and would give interviews to major internationaloutlets, including Wall Street Journal, Nikkei/FT Group, Washington Post,CNN and Reuters.
“Participation of the prime minister in WEF annual meeting 2018 provides anopportunity to project Pakistan as a prime destination of business,investment and trade,” the Foreign Office statement said.
“The event would provide an opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s upwardeconomic trajectory and its huge potential, besides providing an informalsetting to meet world leaders and share views on different issues.”
