ISLAMABAD – The federal cabinet has decided to impose a ban on smuggledphones from December 31, 2018, and after the deadline, such phones will beblocked.
Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry announced the decisionafter cabinet’s meeting.
He said that the government in a bid to promote the local mobile phonesindustry decided to block the smuggled cell phones.

He explained that after December 31, smuggled phones could not be used inPakistan. However, such phones brought into the country before December 31would work.
