News Article:WANA – Security forces successfully conducted an intelligence-basedoperation (IBO) in the general area of Sholam, Wana, during the night of 23and 24 October, acting on credible information about the presence ofterrorists linked with the banned organization FAK.
According to initial reports, at least six terrorists were killed in theintense exchange of fire, while several others sustained injuries. Theoperation was launched after security forces received precise intelligenceregarding the militants’ movement and hideout in the area.
Following the engagement, the area was cordoned off to ensure the completeelimination of any remaining hostile elements and to secure thesurroundings.
This latest operation reflects the continued resolve of Pakistan’s securityforces to eliminate terrorism from the region and ensure lasting peace inSouth Waziristan and adjoining tribal districts.
