TOKYO – President Dr Arif Alvi has urged Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abeto play role for restoration of fundamental human rights of Kashmiri peoplein Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).
The president met the Japanese PM in Tokyo and felicitated the Japanese PMon the enthronement of the Emperor of Japan. Alvi stressed on the need forboth countries to work together closely to enhance mutually beneficialrelations.
He said both countries should enhance relations in the fields ofinvestment, trade, human resource development and people to people contacts.
The president also expressed his heartfelt condolences on the loss ofprecious lives caused by the recent Typhoon Hagibis in Japan and wishedearly recovery of the injured, local media reported.
The president briefed Abe about the worsening situation in IoK after Indiangovernment repealed the special status given to IoK. President Alvi urgedthe Japanese PM to play role for restoration of human rights in the valley.
