ISLAMABAD – Investors and businessmen of Portugal have expressed interestto invest in development projects of Pakistan Railways.
Talking to Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in Islamabad onWednesday, they said Pakistan’s economy is fast progressing and they willbenefit from the opportunities of investment and partnership.
The Minister apprised the Portuguese investors of the ongoing developmentprojects in Pakistan Railways.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said Pakistan welcomesinvestment of the private sector.

He expressed confidence the Portuguese investment will help reduce deficitof Pakistan Railways.
The Railways Minister said work on Main Line One project will begin nextyear. He said the new 1872-kilometer railway track between Karachi andPeshawar will usher in a revolution in railway.
