KARACHI – The dead body of 17-year-old Sabika Sheikh — who was killed inthe Texas’s Santa Fe High School shooting on Friday — arrived at theKarachi airport in the early hours of Wednesday.
Family members of Sabika Sheikh and personnel from US Consulate in Karachiwere present at the Airport Cargo Complex to receive the body. Severalpolitical leaders were also present at the airport.
According to Sabika Sheikh’s uncle, her funeral prayers will be offered atthe Hakim Saeed Ground at 9:00am and she will be laid to rest at theAzeempura graveyard.
Earlier, large number of members of Pakistani community, Pakistan CouncilGeneral Aisha Farooqi, Mayor Houston and members of US Congress attendedSabika’s funeral in Houston.
Arrangements were also made for Quran Khwani for the departed soul at themosque in Houston.
Sabika was among 10 people killed in the Texas’s Santa Fe High Schoolshooting on Friday morning. Sabika was an exchange student with YouthExchange and Study (YES) programme, which is funded by the US StateDepartment
