Pakistan Association Dubai wins hearts in UAE

DUBAI – Pakistan Association Dubai is carrying out a series of activitiesthis Ramadan to help underprivileged community members through the holymonth.

The activities range from supporting a thousand deserving families withfood packages to arranging and distributing iftar packets weekly in labouraccommodation clusters in collaboration with the Community DevelopmentAuthority, Gulf News has reported.

“Ramadan is a month of sharing and giving; we feel the social and moralresponsibility of standing with the less privileged of our community,” saidShahid ul Islam, member of the welfare committee at PAD.

Among the activities to be carried out this month are: distribution ofRamadan food packages to 1,000 families, each worth Dh300; helping releaseprisoners and repatriate them; distribution of 1,800 iftar packets weeklyat labour accommodation complexes in collaboration with the CDA; arrangingdaily iftar meals for nearly 250 people at the Pakistani mosque; organisingthe ‘Iftar for a Cause’ in support of Pakistan Centre; filling up theRamadan Fridge in Oud Metha; and a mosque cleaning activity on June 1.

“We have an array of services catering to every segment of the societyensuring that no deserving person is left unattended. In addition, weencourage the privileged members of the community to step up theircontributions in Ramadan,” said Rizwan Fancy, director, Public Relations,PAD.
