Panama Papers JIT gets support of 4 key state institutions

ISLAMABAD – Panama Case Joint Investigation Team formed to probe the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family in the London flats case leaked by Panama Papers has intensified it’s investigations into the case.

Panama Case JIT headed by the Additional Director General of FIA has sought help from the state institutions for obtaining the relevant record of the case.

Four key institutions on Tuesday have sent their teams to assist the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating into the Panama case.

The institutions, including Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) formed their respective teams and submitted them to the JIT, GEO news reported.

All the teams will begin to assist the JIT, made by the Supreme Court to implement the Panama verdict, starting from today.

On Monday, the JIT presented its first 15-days initial report on the Panama case where the special bench showed satisfaction over the probe made so far.

The bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, comprises Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan held the hearing and directed the JIT to complete its investigation within 60 days as per the orders of the court.
