ISLAMABAD: Number of estimated coronavirus cases across Pakistan may riseto 200,000 warns WHO official.

The number of estimated coronavirus cases in Pakistan can rise to anestimated 200,000 by mid-July if “effective interventions” are not taken,warned the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Thursday.

This was stated by Dr Tedros Adhanom, Director-General WHO at the launch ofthe Pakistan National Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan virtualconference.

“Pakistan’s #COVID19 Response Plan is a joint strategy of the Governmentof #Pakistan, the @UN and partners.

It is aligned with the @GlobalGoalsUN, Pakistan’s National Action Plan andWHO’s global Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan,” DrTedros was quotedas saying.
