ISLAMABAD – The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund(UNICEF) has called for urgent efforts to help more than 720,000 Rohingyachildren who are threatened by the approaching cyclone season in Bangladeshand ongoing violence in Myanmar.
In a report issued today (Friday), it said that floods caused by theforthcoming cyclone season are likely to engulf the fragile camps wheremost of the refugees are living.
According to the report, an estimated 185,000 Rohingya children are inMyanmar’s Rakhine State while in Bangladesh, there are estimated to bearound 534,000 Rohingya refugee children.
The report says people would not go home unless they are guaranteed safetyand security.
