The racist remarks do not bode well for Sarfaraz as he risks beingpenalized under the International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-racism code orcode of conduct for player behavior, depending on the match officials.

The Anti-racism code defines an offense as:

“Any conduct (whether through the use of language, gestures or otherwise)which is likely to offend, insult, humiliate, intimidate, threaten, disparage or vilify any reasonable person in the position of a Player,Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee, Umpire Support Personnelor any other person (including a spectator) on the basis of their race, religion, culture, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin”.

The all-rounder was later crowned man of the match for his brilliantall-round performance, including his career-best 4/22 and 69* to steer histeam home in an enthralling low-scoring clash.
