Maryam Nawaz Sharif seek another relief from the Accountability court

LAHORE – Maryam Nawaz Sharif seek another relief from the Accountabilitycourt.

Accountability court on Friday has approved exemption from hearing pleas ofex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)vice president Maryam Nawaz in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

During the hearing, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) lawyer said thatit’s mandatory for the accused to appear before the court even if he or sheis on bail. The court remarked that Maryam Nawaz will face the trial afterfiling of reference.

It is to be mentioned here that the PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz andmanaging director at Sharif Group of Industries and former Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif’s nephew Yousaf Abbas were produced before the court aftertheir remand ended today.

Earlier, Lahore High Court (LHC) had granted bail to Nawaz Sharif and hisdaughter Maryam Nawaz in the case.

On August 8, NAB team had detained Maryam Nawaz outside the Kot LakhpatJail in Lahore for skipping appearance in Chaudhry Sugar Mills due tomeeting with her father and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Maryam Nawaz was unable to provide the required details of foreigninvestment in sugar mills while she was also failed to satisfy the bureauregarding source of income for purchasing the shares. NAB has also claimedthat three foreigners had transferred 11000 shares worth millions of rupeeson Maryam Nawaz’s name.
