*PESHAWAR – A six-member Russian army delegation led by Vice AdmiralOsipov lgor Vladimirovich, visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, said InterService Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.*
The delegation during its visit of the headquarters called on CorpsCommander Peshawar Lieutenant General, Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood and discussedissues of mutual interests.
The Russian army delegation was briefed on Pakistan Army’s campaign againstterrorism, situation and fencing along Pak-Afghan border, reads thestatement released by ISPR.
Earlier, on arrival, Osipov lgor Vladimirovich laid a floral wreath atYadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan Army.
A Russian Army contingent on October 22, had arrived in Pakistan toparticipate in ‘Druzhba-III’, the joint military training exercise betweenboth the countries, continued till November 4.
The 1st joint exercise between both the countries was held in Pakistanduring 2016 while 2nd in Russia in 2017.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Navy will conduct a multi-national naval exercise ‘Amn’early next year in Karachi.
This exercise is conducted every year since 2007 and is participated byforces of various countries from around the world.
Amn-2019 will also be participated by the forces of different countriesunder the slogan given by Pakistan Navy ‘United for Peace’.
