NEW DELHI – Indian government is forcing Muslim Imams to publicly condemn*Qurbani* (sacrifice) on Eidul Azha.
A video circulating on the social media showed an Indian policeman forcinga local Imam to announce that “*Qurbani* is a punishable offence”.

*Qurbani* on Eidul Azha is a recommended practice for Muslims. Muslimsacross the globe sacrifice sheep, cows and camels for God’s pleasure. InIndia, *Qurbani* becomes controversial every year because cows are reveredby Hindus as sacred animals and mass sacrifice of cows is hurtful to thesentiments of the Hindu majority.
