LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) issued notices to the federal government over a petition seeking to put the name of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on exit control list (ECL).
The petition filed by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffery states the members of Sharif family are not appearing before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) despite the clear-cut directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan; it is violation of the judicial order.
The petitioner said Nawaz Sharif and his family members have visas of different countries; hence, they may flee abroad to avoid the NAB references and subsequent arrest.
Accordingly, they should be put on the ECL, the petition prayed to the court.
