RAWALPINDI – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid on Sundaydecided to move court against Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP)decision to postpone elections in NA-60 constituency followingdisqualification of Hanif Abbasi in ephedrine case.
Rashid held stance that elections can only be postponed in case of death ofcandidate. Rashid sensed conspiracy behind postpone of elections.
While terming decision of postponing unconstitutional, Rashid stated thatdecision is tantamount to pre-poll rigging.
An anti-narcotics court on Saturday has handed life imprisonment toPakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi in ephedrinequota case.
During case’s proceedings, Abbasi provided legal use of as much as 363KGephedrine whereas he failed in submitting the evidence pertaining to legalusage of 137KG ephedrine case in the court.
