ISLAMABAD: In two separate incidents, shots were fired at PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) campaign events within a timeframe of 18 hours.
In the first incident, PTI’s candidate for NA-54 Asad Umar was attending acorner meeting in light of the upcoming general elections in the capital’sAdnan Market with an estimated 250 in attendance when Pakistan MuslimLeague-Nawaz (PML-N) workers allegedly disrupted the meeting and shots wereheard.
Police attempted to intervene and intercept the nine PML-N vehicles butfive managed to flee.
A case was registered pertaining to the incident against unidentifiedpersons under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) Sections 337, 188, 148 and 149.
In another incident, a PTI rally being led by Zulfikar Bukhari wasallegedly fired upon by three unidentified persons.
