KARACHI: Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Leader of opposition SyedKhursheed Shah have secretly agreed on the name of interim prime ministerand other cabinet members.
According to local news outlet, the decision was finalized between themeeting of PM Abbasi and Khursheed Shah; both the parties finalized thename and decided that the issue would not be referred to the parliamentarycommittee or Election Commission of Pakistan.
Sources added that the two parties have considered the names of Justice(retd) Tasadduq Hussain Jilani, Dr Ishrat Hussain, Justice (retd) AnwarZaheer Jamali, Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk, Justice(retd) Shakirullah Jan, Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Justice (retd) Nasir AslamZahid and some other names for the caretaker prime minister.
Justice (retd) Tasadduq Hussain Jilani and Dr Ishrat Hussain were twostrongest candidates for the post.
Reports added that PML-N wants to appoint a person with an expert fromfinancial background and favoring the name of Dr Ishrat for the post.
However, the PPP wants someone with a judicial background. Therefore, theyare considering the names of either Justice (retd) Tasadduq Hussain Jilanior Justice (retd) Anwar Zaheer Jamali for the caretaker PM.
