*LAHORE:* One of the pioneers of the #MeToo movement in Hollywood and oneof the first to come forward with their accusations against Hollywood mogulHarvey Weinstein, Rose McGowan, in a Twitter support extended her supportto Meesha.
Sharing the link to a local media outlet, McGowan, wrote, ” A heroine forour times. I stand with Meesha Shafi.”
Meesha thanked the actor for her support by sharing a screenshot of thetweet on her social media.
Meesha Shafi’s explosive accusation of sexual harassment against Pakistan’spopular singer-actor Ali Zafar has propelled a sort of #MeToo movement inPakistan with more women coming forward to share their own stories ofharassment and abuse.
With so many women, including Armeena Khan and Ayesha Omar coming forwardwith their own stories of harassment, could Pakistan be heading for a#MeToo movement also? But the real question still remains: are we ready forit or not?
