ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal says governmentand people of Pakistan are deeply saddened and grieved on the tragic lossof precious lives, including women and children, in unfortunate capsizingof a ferry near Mosul.

In a tweet, he said we join bereaved families, people and government ofIraq in this hour of sorrow and grief. He said our prayers are with them.

It is pertinent to mention that in Iraq, the death toll from the capsizedoverloaded ferry has risen to one hundred.link

The incident took place in the Tigris river near Mosul city on Thursday.Most of the casualties on the ferry were women and children who could notswim.
