LAHORE – Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan has directed toimmediately start Waste to Energy Projects in six major cities of Punjaband complete them within one year.
While presiding over a high level meeting in Lahore on Monday, SeniorMinister Abdul Aleem Khan directed the Local Government Department to takeinitiative in this regard.
These cities include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala andSialkot while Islamabad will be added specially with Rawalpindi and PunjabGovernment will also gift one project to KPK Government for Peshawar.
He said these plants will replace dumping sites where garbage will produceelectricity, gases and other usable products. He said that these Waste toEnergy Projects will be part of Clean & Green Punjab campaign for whichlong term planning has been evolved.
He said that after these six cities other urban units will also be includedin this project and Waste to Energy Projects will be carry forwarded toeach district of Punjab.
