ISLAMABAD – The Third Committee of UN General Assembly has unanimouslypassed Pakistan’s resolution on the right of self-determination.

The resolution has called upon the countries to cease immediately theirmilitary intervention and occupation of foreign countries and territories,and all acts of repression.
Talking to media, Maleeha Lodhi said the adoption of the resolutionreaffirms the inviolability of the right to self-determination for allpeoples without exception, including the people of Jammu and Kashmir andPalestine.
She said Pakistan has historically been a proud champion ofself-determination, helping many states achieve independence.
