*ISLAMABAD – British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew has extendedEid greetings to Muslims in Pakistan and across the world.*
In a video message in Urdu, he remarked: “Asalam Alaikum, a lot of myMuslim friends will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in the next few days. I am at acattle market in Islamabad where I am delighted to see many peoplepurchasing their animals.
“Similarly, many people in the UK, Pakistan and Muslims across the globeare celebrating Eid. On behalf of the British High Commission, I would liketo wish a heartiest Eid Mubarak to everyone.”
The envoy shared the video on social media with the message: “Best wishesto everyone celebrating #EidAlAdha this week – in Pakistan, the UK andaround the world.”
Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated today in Saudi Arabia, Middle East, Gulfcountries, Afghanistan and some other parts of the world. The holy festivalinvolves slaughtering animals marking the end of the Hajj pilgrimage toMakkah and in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) readiness tosacrifice his son.
