ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) candidate Asad Umer cornermeeting on Friday night was reportedly targeted by unknown persons in AdnanMarket of Sector G-11, no casualties or injuries were reported.
According to the police, the incident took place during NA-54 candidateAsad Umar speech, whereas, the party workers and candidates remained safe.
The PTI vice president of Islamabad chapter Farid-ur-Rehman alsoconfirmed that Asad Umar and other party members were safe. However, hesaid that this kind of violent behavior cannot be tolerated.
A large number of PTI workers went to the police station for theregistration of First Information Report (FIR). The members resorted tochanting slogans as well.
The superintendent of police (SP) Saddar Zone informed that the site of theincident has been cordoned off for the general public and the investigationhas begun.
