In India, the Supreme Court has refused to grant interim bail to former Calcutta High Court judge CS Karnan.
The apex court also refused suspension of Karnan’s six month jail sentence in a contempt of court case.
Karnan is the first ever sitting judge of a higher court in judicial history to be sentenced to jail term.
