Justice Asif Saeed Khosa breaks silence over word godfather attributed to him against Nawaz Sharif

*ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court *Justice Asif Saeed Khosa who had heard thePanama case against Former PM Nawaz Sharif has finally broken the silenceover the remarks attributed to him in the case.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has denied using the words like “godfather”against Former PM Nawaz Sharif during the course of court proceedings.

He on Wednesday, clarified that the Supreme Court never referred to formerprime minister Nawaz Sharif as ‘godfather’ in the Panamagate verdict.

He lamented that labels and statements are being attributed to judges outof context, and urged everyone to not repeat them. “Do not attribute thatwhich has not been said by the apex court in its verdict,” he said.

Justice Khosa also urged media persons to exercise caution while reportingthe court proceedings.

The three-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has alsodischarged contempt notice against Jang Group CEO Mir Shakil and othersover alleged false news.

On April 20, The SC’s verdict on the Panama case left many with mixedfeelings but the 549-page-long judgment chose a rather interesting way tobegin its judgment on corruption allegations against the Sharif family — areference to Mario Puzo’s novel, The Godfather which also went on to becomeHollywood’s most famous modern classic.
