PTI government launches National Job Programme

ISLAMABAD – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth AffairsMuhammad Usman Dar held a meeting with a team of GIZ to explore variousavenues of collaboration for the development of an effective National JobProgramme (NJP), an initiative of the Government for creating gainfulemployment opportunities for the youth.

NJP would include vocational training of youth in best of the best TVETinstitutes, and their placements in relevant industries to spur nationaleconomic growth. Moreover, youth trained in high-end technologies in thefields of construction, hospitality, artificial intelligence, e-mobilityand robotics would also be facilitated to seek jobs in the internationalmarkets.

It was agreed in the meeting that GIZ would rank the existing TVET sectorinstitutes in the country based on the quality of their training programs.

The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, however, would engage top rankinginstitutes to impart skills training to youth for a more productiveemployment under its NJP.

Usman Dar appreciated GIZ for their role in the development of TVET sectorin Pakistan, and expressed hope to leverage their expertise in the fieldfor creating better employment opportunities for the youth.
