ISLAMABAD – PAKISTAN has achieved a big diplomatic success at the UnitedNations.
The Third Committee of UN General Assembly has unanimously passedPakistan’s resolution on the right of self-determination.
In a tweet, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhisaid a record number of 83 countries co-sponsored the resolution.

She said the resolution is reaffirmation of the international community’scontinued support for the people’s right to self-determination.

The resolution has called upon the countries to cease immediately theirmilitary intervention and occupation of foreign countries and territories,and all acts of repression.
Talking to media, Maleeha Lodhi said the adoption of the resolutionreaffirms the inviolability of the right to self-determination for allpeoples without exception, including the people of Jammu and Kashmir andPalestine.
