ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said on Thursday that those who were criticising the judiciary should refrain from doing so if the decision did not go in their favour.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice said that all institutes deserved to be respected including judges and the apex court.
“Do not criticise if the decision went against you,” he said.
He also said that judges have to keep in mind the interests of the country.
“It is being said that my reputation is being soiled,” he said. “We have to keep in mind the interests of the country, we don’t base our decisions on emotions,” he added.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been targeting the judiciary and senior judges of the apex court after he was disqualified in the Panama Papers Prime Minister disqualification case.
