ISLAMABAD – India rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s proposal of holdingthe SAARC submit in Islamabad, Indian media has reported.
As per Indian media report, Pakistan’s proposal for hosting the next SAARCsummit in Islamabad is not accepted by PM Modi government.
Prime Minister Imran Khan seek to hold the 20th Saarc Summit in Islamabadin the letter to his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar in a pressconference said: “time and again we have said that the atmosphere in theregion is not conducive for this summit.”
Kumar added that it is difficult to hold the Saarc Summit which is to behosted by Pakistan.
Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart ShahMehmood Qureshi will meet in New York on September 27.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the meeting withoutspecifying a date.
