*ISLAMABAD: Federal government has decided to allocate Rs5 billion for theprovision of facilities in the areas along with the Line of Control (LoC)in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).*
As per Radio Pakistan, AJK lacks health facilities, rural access roads,shell-proof community bunkers and disaster management infrastructure.
A stakeholders’ meeting was held the other day regarding implementationmethodology, the establishment of the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) andthe formulation of Project Document (PC-1) for LoC.
Few days earlier, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan urgedthe international community to take notice of ceasefire violations by Indiaalong the restive line of control.
Paying tribute to the AJK citizens residing along the LoC, for recurrentlyfacing Indian blitz, the president said that it is extremely unfortunatethat Indian forces were brazenly violating ceasefire agreement of 2003.
He said, “India is escalating tension at LoC only to distract the world’sattention from the worst human rights violations by its forces in theIndian-occupied Kashmir.”
Sardar Masood Khan further said India had failed to crush indigenousKashmir freedom struggle and it would not be able to defeat the courage anddetermination of the Kashmiris.
