ISLAMABAD – Minister for National Food Security Sahibzada Mehboob Sultansays a special relief package will soon be announced for the farmers whosecrops were damaged in recent rains.
In a statement, he said the government is doing its best to estimate thedamages to the crops as well as human losses in the rains at the earliest.
The Minister said he will visit the affected areas to meet the affectedfarmers and monitor the situation on ground.
He said the damage caused to standing crops due to heavy rains is moderateand there is no likelihood of food insecurity or emergency situationthereof.

He said the met department has been directed to remain vigilant andmaintain liaison with provincial agriculture departments for timely weatherforecast.
