PESHAWAR: The Private Education Network (PEN) while lamenting on the attitude of authorities regarding education sector Thursday said PTI led government that conducted fifth grade examination through board has failed to issue a proper notification for stakeholders and owners of private schools.
President PEN Saleem Khan in a press statement said PTI government that publicized the primary board education through media campaigns but failed to issue a proper notification relating to its announcement, says “we have not received any notification or proper document from the board.”
He said assessment of the students is an optional activity while examination is a compulsory way that if hindered would not only adversely affect our educational process but capabilities of students to prepare themselves for examinations of higher classes.
Moreover, if primary assessment is an examination that question arises that is Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar has powers and authorities to conduct primary and middle examinations under 1990 Act Board Calendar, he said.
He said apathy of PTI government negated its high claims of introducing uniform education system in the province and deplored this approach of the government. He said millions of students who are in private schools are moving pillar to posts to get syllabus books.
Saleem Khan alleged that the PTI government was trying to attract students of private schools by announcing scholarships for top position holders of the government schools in 9th and 10th grade examination which is a discrimination and an attempt to enroll and misguide brilliant students of private schools.
He said that government should announce a clear and result oriented policy and abstain from jeopardizing the future of students getting education in private schools.
He said that we would challenge the decision of government in courts if a proper action on their part decision was not made to address the concerns of private schools. (APP)
