SRINAGAR – A complete shutdown is being observed on Wednesday, to protestagainst the killing of Jamaat-e-Islami activist and principal of a privateschool in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The 28-year-old, Rizwan Asad was arrested by the sleuths of Indian NationalInvestigation Agency (NIA) from Pulwama district three days ago and waskilled at the infamous Indian torture centre, Cargo camp, run by theSpecial Operations Group.
The custodial killing triggered forceful anti-India protests in differentareas of the territory including Pulwama and Srinagar districts.
Students of Kashmir University in Srinagar also held forcefuldemonstrations against the custodial death of the school principal and thesummoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by Indian agency, NIA. Several people wereinjured when troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on themourners in the area.
The call for today’s the shutdown was given by the Joint ResistanceLeadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and MuhammadYasin Malik.
