*RAWALPINDI:* The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is likely to finalisenational and provincial assembly candidates for the upcoming generalelections at a party meeting in the first week of April, according to a *localEnglish daily.link>*
All the provincial heads of the PTI will attend the party meeting to reviewexpected candidates in various constituencies, according to thepublication. The party is likely to announce its candidates before theannouncement of the general election schedule, so that no local leadersjoin other parties, told a senior party leader to the publication.
The leader also said that there are a number of issues in Punjab,especially north Punjab areas where the local party chapters are dividedinto groups. There is a set party policy to select candidates for partytickets who had performed well in the 2013 elections.
According to the PTI leader, candidates who got 40,000 and above votes inthe last elections will be considered for the national assembly, whereasones who got 25,000 and above votes will be considered for the provincialassemblies.
