LAHORE: Counter Terrorism Department arrests three key terrorists of bannedTTP planning deadly attacks in Pakistan.
The officials of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to havearrested three alleged terrorists during a raid conducted nearBahawalnagar-Haroonabad By-pass.
During the raid, CTD officials have also recovered a huge quantity ofexplosives from the possession of the alleged terrorists identified asImran, Muhammad Abid Sohail and Muhammad Raza.
The spokesperson added seven detonators, safety fuses, ball bearings, twopackets of explosive material weighed up to 869 grams and 869 gramsrespectively were also seized in the raid.
The arrested terrorists have allegedly planned to target sensitiveinstallations in Bahawalnagar. The spokesperson said the arrested men wereassociated with the banned outfit, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Earlier in December last year, CTD of the Punjab police in a jointoperation along with law enforcement agencies had claimed to have roundedup five alleged terroristslink ofAl-Qaeda in Gujranwala.
