ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi throws achallenge to Indian PM Narendra Modi over Occupied Kashmir referendum.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday challenged Indian PrimeMinister Narendra Modi to hold a public referendum in occupied Kashmir “ifhe really wants feedback on the popularity of his decision” to striplink the region of its autonomous status.
“I challenge Narendra Modi to lift the curfew and call the entire Kashmirileadership — including those who have been in government with you, such asMehbooba Mufti, a former chief minister, Omar Abdullah, also a CM, and theHurriyat leadership: Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Ali Gilani, Yasin Malik — thereare numerous individuals,” said Qureshi, during a press conference inMultan.
“In Srinagar, or wherever you see fit, hold a public referendum today,” hesaid, daring Modi to test which way the public opinion sways.
