*Washington, July 17, 2025* — The United States has officially designatedThe Resistance Front a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). U.S.Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the designation aims to cut offTRF’s financial support.
This move means all TRF assets under U.S. jurisdiction will be frozen, andit will now be a crime for any individual or organization in the U.S. toprovide material support to the group.
India welcomed the decision, calling it a strong validation of itslong-standing claims about Pakistan-backed proxy groups operating inKashmir. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Congress MP ShashiTharoor praised the move, urging the global community to now focus ondismantling the broader terror networks allegedly protected by Pakistan.
Pakistan, however, condemned the U.S. action, denying any links to TRF andaccusing both India and the United States of politicizing terrorism forregional agendas. Islamabad maintains that TRF is not based in Pakistan anddenies harboring or facilitating any such groups.
Following the Pahalgam incident, Indian media was quick to accuse Pakistan, claiming the attack was carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF) — analleged militant group that has never made any direct public appearance orshown any verifiable presence. The sudden emergence of TRF raised eyebrows, and now even international observers and U.S. agencies are beginning toquestion whether this group actually exists.
TRF appears to be a fabrication by India’s intelligence agency, RAW — aproxy created to falsely connect Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Taiba to attacksinside Indian-occupied Kashmir. There is no concrete proof of itsexistence: no members have ever been arrested, no names or photographs havesurfaced, no videos, no ID cards, and no credible claims or evidence of acommand structure, funding sources, or digital presence. TRF remainsnothing more than a phantom entity — constructed solely for propagandapurposes.
Pakistan has consistently denounced terrorism in all its forms and hasitself been a victim of violent extremism. It has exposed Indian-sponsoredterrorist networks with solid proof, including intercepted audioconversations of Indian operatives and financial trails linked toorganizations such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
There are several serious questions India must answer: If TRF is real, where is the evidence? Where are its members, its hideouts, and itsfunders? Why hasn’t even one operative been presented before a court or thepress?
India has a well-documented history of inventing fake militant groups tospread misinformation and deflect attention from its failures in Kashmirand its own rising domestic unrest. TRF is the latest in this pattern — amanufactured front designed to fuel disinformation and justify aggressiveposturing.
However, the global perspective is beginning to change. India’s narrativeis losing credibility under international scrutiny, while Pakistan’sfact-based position is being acknowledged more widely. The world isstarting to recognize the repeated use of false flag tactics and proxylabels to frame others for internal crises.
