ISLAMABAD – Pakistan top order batsman Babar Azam is eager to showcase histalents for his latest home, the Somerset County Cricket club at theVitality Blast 2019.
Sharing his experience at the recently concluded World Cup, Pakistan’sbatting bulwark says he is ‘really ready’ for the T20 cricket challenge.
“My World Cup has gone very well so I am hoping that my form is going tocontinue for Somerset. I have worked very hard and before the start of theWorld Cup we had a series against England, so I was feeling very confidentand really ready for it.
“I like playing here in England and now I am looking forward to playing forSomerset against other counties. Somerset have already won the One-Day Cupso hopefully this year I can help them to go one step further and win theT20 as well.”
The number one ranked T20 batsman also had a message for Somerset Membersand supporters: “I am looking forward to playing in front of my home crowdat Taunton,” he said. “I would like to ask the supporters to come along andcheer Somerset on.”
The T20 tournament also includes Pakistani cricket stars including MohammadAmir, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman and Imad Wasim.
