ISLAMABAD – The total media value of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) alongwith all six franchises now stands at Rs. 3 billion. The figure wasreported by PCB Chairman Najam Sethi who was highly appreciative of PSL’sassets’ growth.
Nielsen Holdings PLClinkalsoposted similar figures a few days back in its report on PSL and itsfranchises.
The global information, data, and measurement company calculated PSL’stotal worth at over $230 million as PSL 3 recorded an increase of 38% inits value from the previous season.
The PCB Chairman spoke at the sporting body’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)where he reported the figures among other decisions. Sethi was also giventhe unanimous vote of confidence at the same meeting by the regionalpresidents.——————————
The PCB Chairman also announced grants for Gwadar Cricket Association andother remote areas of the country. Najam Sethi announced a special fund ofRs. 50 million for remote areas for the promotion of cricket.
In 2017-18, the board allocated Rs. 300 million for the activitiesin Regional and District cricket. This year the amount has by increased byanother Rs. 100 million.
A two-day session will be held prior to the next AGM meeting to discuss thematters of the General Body members from now on.
The members also appreciated the national team’s recent performance in T20sand the return of the international cricket.
