ISLAMABAD – PTI government takes a step forward towards fulfilling it’spromise of making a Digital Pakistan.

The edotco Group, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure servicescompany has reinforced its commitment in Pakistan, now considered a countrywith the potential to create one of the largest digital audiences in theworld.

At a recent meeting with Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, DatukAzzat Kamaludin, Chairman of edotco Group and Suresh Sidhu, CEO of edotcoGroup shared their optimism of Pakistan’s connectivity developments andreiterated edotco’s continuing commitment to invest in the country’sdigital growth through improved telecommunications infrastructure.

“Over the years, we have seen excellent opportunity in Pakistan. With amobile SIM penetration rate at 73% and the strong performance of 3G and 4Gservices, digital growth in the country has been exponential. edotcoPakistan has a long-term service agreement with all major operators with abroad portfolio of infrastructure offerings including build to suit, O&Mservices and energy management solutions. Pakistan is a key market for usand we hope to continue introducing innovative infrastructure solutions tofurther advance Pakistan’s telecommunications sector,” said Datuk Azzat.

At the meeting, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, H.E Mohammad NafeesZakaria expressed his enthusiasm to intensify engagements between bothnations.

Pakistan and Malaysia have shared a healthy bilateral relationship andMalaysian investment in Pakistan reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment tostrengthening these ties. edotco’s interest to invest in Pakistan’s telecomrelated infrastructure development is appreciated and will be in line withthe drive towards a digital Pakistan.

“Recent indicators by the Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) revealed thatout of 152 million cellular subscribers in the country, 60 million useeither 3G or 4G whereas 62 million are broadband subscribers. To supportthese growing mobile penetration rates, edotco is committed to advancingconnectivity in the country by helping to reduce barriers to internetaccess through improved network coverage and capacity. Our focus is ongrowing our operations there, both organically and inorganically,” DatukAzzat added.

To date, edotco Group’s business in Pakistan comprises of approximately 700fully operational towers nationwide with a workforce of 130 telecomprofessionals.
